Interior Trim & Upholstery

What makes our restored interiors different from other companies ?
Gary Bowers has been creating interiors since 1978  Gary brings over 35 years experience to custom fitting leather and interiors.  Gary has made some of his own tools on our lathe which includes a perfectly balanced hammer that he uses for stretching leather tightly over bends, creases and turns.

At Catz Auto we take several take the extra steps necessary to insure that your interior is installed with the latest materials that will often times make it better that the original equipment.  Interior with consoles, carpeting, seats, steering wheels, dash pads, headliners, door accessories, and more.
Creating an interior that will last and continue to look good for many years starts with the foundation that you can't see when looking at the vehicle.
  • Instead of using plain paper backboard in door panels, headliners, and other areas, we use a blackboard backing that contains metal filaments for extra strength. This prevents door panels from warping or sagging when doors get wet or damp.  Owners of convertibles find our methods very valuable.
  • We use adhesive glue to apply any foam backing to leather or fabric.  We also use adhesive glue to then attach the material to the backing.  This attention to  details can offset problems that can occur few years later with sagging headliners, wrinkled leather and warped door panels.
  • We use a Landau Foam in some area to insure long term stiffness.
  • When restoring edge trims we insure that we use adhesive over the entire surface. This prevents wrinkle and stretching over time.
  • We have a large selection of leather including vat died flameproof.
We repair the seats before being re-upholstered and the coil springs repaired, replaced, or retied.

The instrument panel and dashboard contains a number of gauges, each of which have to be inspected and cleaned, repaired, or replaced to be brought back to both operational and cosmetic standards of the car when it was first sold.

Developments in technology have made it possible to salvage the original automobile's interior by various restoration processes. Examples of this include leather seat, dash, console, steering wheel, door panel, and trim repair, as well as re-dyeing.
